Characteristics of the five subzones

Characteristics of the five subzones

  • Valdizarbe: This is seen as the neuralgic centre of the Camino de Santiago as it passes through Navarra, since it is in this zone that the different Jocobean routes cross the Community.
  • Tierra Estella: Sandwiched in the mid west of Navarra, it extends the full length of the Camino de Santiago. To the west is Valdizarbe, in the middle basin of the river Ega.
  • Ribera Alta: Situated around the Olite zone, in the middle flank of Navarra and the point where the southern zone begins.
  • Baja Montaña: Located to the north east of the Mark, on the middle basin of the Aragon river.
  • Ribera Baja: Situated to the south of Navarra, this is the most important extension of vineyards and greatest number of wine merchants. It is fund in the right margin of the river Ebro.
